I’ve been thinking about this myself quite a bit in the last few months.
Moving to a new place brought a lot of change, stress, and physical work.
At the same time, I ended up in a place where there’s a lot of silence, forest, and space.
And I feel fulfilled in it.
But at some point, I realized something important — I can’t just relax. I also want to work.
I want to get back to my professional life, do things, develop ideas, meet people.
My mind says, “Well, go ahead and do it!”
But I don’t.
And a few days ago I asked myself — what’s really holding me back?
At first, it seemed like the answer was comfort.
But when I thought about it more, I realized that it’s not all about comfort. I have enough peace in my life, but I haven’t fully developed peace in my relationship with my work yet.
I need time to sit down and think again.
Write down my thoughts.
See what I really want.
Organize my ideas.
Analyze where I am and where I want to go.
Just as we take time for ourselves to relax, take a bath, go for a walk, or just do nothing, we sometimes need to take time to reconnect with our work.
You don’t always have to jump in headfirst.
Sometimes it’s much healthier to slowly get into a rhythm.
Especially if you’re self-employed and don’t have an external work rhythm where you just have to “be there by nine on Monday.
And the same goes for returning to work after a vacation, burnout, parental leave, or some other phase in your life.
We don’t have to get back to the same pace right away.
We can start with one piece.
